The word “caring” comes to mind when describing Broker Associate Carol Sewell. To experience the level of caring and giving that she extends to all that she does – whether in her duties as a Realtor, in service to her community or in her volunteer activities with numerous charities – is to know that you are in good hands.
Calm and competent with 20 plus years’ experience in residential real estate, the individual care and personal attention Carol gives to each client she works with has earned her a file full of thank you letters, not to mention referrals, from grateful clients attesting to her skill as a Realtor and, more importantly, as a caring person.
A licensed Realtor since 1995 and a Broker since 1999, she says she chose real estate as a career because she feels that having a home is a universal human desire. Besides the independence and flexibility real estate gave her as a wife and mother raising three sons, she recognized that she had found something to love in each of the homes in which she has lived and that residential real estate was a “product” she could promote and believe in.
She has a special affinity for serving the real estate needs of military veterans and pilots, thanks to her husband, Steve, who was a Marine Corps pilot and served two tours of active duty in Vietnam plus additional time in the Marine Corps Reserves totaling 20+ years, and to the memory of her late father who was a B-17 pilot in WWII.
But, in no way does she limit her reach. Carol also enjoys working with first time home buyers, families with children, and seniors because she finds working with people from different generations with different communication styles and preferences fascinating. She’s very good at solving problems and isn’t rattled by the occasional unforeseen or last minute “hiccups” that can occur. Her constant goal is to ensure that each real estate transaction she manages progresses seamlessly.
She married Steve in October 2007 and their blended family includes 5 children and 5 grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and participating in many veterans’ groups related to his military service. One that she particularly enjoys takes place at a neighborhood air park that has an annual Fly-In each fall, attracting planes from all over central and south Texas. She has been in charge of the event’s publicity for several years and both she and Steve volunteer the day of this event. To no one’s surprise, Carol herself is learning to fly.
A tireless woman of strong faith, Carol is very active in her church and volunteers on multiple levels,  She also participates in KIVA, an online organization providing micro-finance funding to entrepreneurs in third world countries.  Previously, she was an 8-year volunteer for a supplemental reading program serving early elementary age children and she served as an Interim Seguin ISD School Board Trustee for 10 months in 2016.
